Jewish New Year Starts Year Right
The High Holidays were a hub of activity with Friendship Circle and LifeTown offering a variety of programs to appeal to young and old. Participants were able to bake their own honey cakes during an interactive, online baking class led by Esty Grossbaum. Hundreds of children throughout the area participated in the Shofar Factory workshops led by Rabbi Yisroel Rosenblum. The kids learned how a shofar is made and why it is used on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Like last year, Chabad of Livingston rabbis fanned out across town to blow shofar in public spaces for those who were not able to attend in-person services due to the ongoing pandemic.
