Chanukah Celebrations

Wow! What an incredible eight nights of amazing programming Friendship Circle participants took part in! Here’s just a small selection.

COOKING CLASS

FC Jr. director Esty Grossbaum hosted a virtual Doughnut Cooking Show for Friendship Circle families during Chanukah.  

CAR MENORAH PARADE

55 cars joined in the annual Car Menorah parade beginning at Rabbinical College of America, making its way through parts of Morris and Essex counties, ending at LifeTown.

LASER SHOW

Hundreds of people gathered at LifeTown for an outdoor Chanukah laser-light show. The event culminated with the arrival of the car menorah parade and the lighting of a giant menorah outside LifeTown. 

JEWISH HERITAGE NIGHT ON ICE

Continuing an annual Chanukah tradition, Friendship Circle led the lighting of the Hockey Stick Menorah at the New Jersey Devils Jewish Heritage Night. FC participants and volunteers were also highlighted as the Group of the Game. 

GOVERNOR’S CHANUKAH EVENT

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy recognized Friendship Circle as part of their virtual Chanukah celebration. Appearing live from LifeTown, Rabbi Zalman Grossbaum joined the online panel of community leaders.

ISRAEL BONDS:

Participants in Friendship Circle’s Torah Circle program got a special Chanukah Gelt gift this year, their own Israel Bond!
