Cocktail Night Celebration

They may not have been able to turn out in person, but hundreds of people participated virtually in this year’s FC Cocktail Night event, which honored the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest, FC staffers Harrison Plavin and MayaBea Schechner, FC volunteers Maida and Dr. David Richlin, and Laura and Dr. Vladimir Shur and family.

One of the evening’s highlights was the debut of the music video “I Am,” which featured many Friendship Circle children, and spoke of the uniqueness of every person.

“This past year has been a catalyst for new programs and connection, for engaging new families and connecting with past participants,” said FC CEO Rabbi Zalman Grossbaum. “A greater light will emerge from the darkness. The challenge, in Hebrew nesayon, has brought about the “neis,” the miracle of a brighter and stronger tomorrow.”

The March 8 program featured updates on what Friendship Circle has been working on in recent months. It also included news about the creation of “LifeTown Virtual Experience,” an online platform that will allow educators and students to “visit” LifeTown remotely and take part in the educational curriculum for afar.

As part of this year’s program, Piff the Magic Dragon, who has appeared on “America’s Got Talent” and elsewhere, performed for viewers to the delight of many in the audience.
