A Presidential Honor for FC Volunteers

Fimg_8172ifteen Friendship Circle teen volunteers received the President’s Volunteer Service Award for their volunteering efforts over the last year. The awards, which included a letter from President Barack Obama and a special medallion, were presented at the Friendship Circle’s annual Volunteer Celebration for teen volunteers who logged a significant number of volunteer hours. Also at the event, the Jerry Waldor Fellowship Awards were presented to 165 teens who logged some 30 volunteer hours over the last year and showed a real commitment to their work. The President’s Volunteer Service awardees are (from left): Ruby Schechner, Julie Averbach, Arielle Wenig, Jacob Solomon, Daniel Zylberger, Friendship Circle Director of Operations Levi Grossbaum, Wesley Gelman and David Kumar. Not pictured are: Kari Thornton, Liat Cohen, Miriam Brickman, Fraidy Rosenblum, Miriam Grossbaum, Alyssa Calderon, Brad Klein and Hannah Feinberg.
