Challahs for Israel

Several dozen people came to the Friendship Circle on Thursday for a challah-baking workshop in support of our brothers a677nd sisters in Israel. Fathers, mothers, friends, sisters and children came together to mix and knead dough to make the Shabbat food staple. Once the dough was mixed, everyone to674
ok off a small piece of challah dough and recitedĀ a blessing over the dough keeping in mind the people of Israel and anyone who needed a special blessing.

“Israel is definitely on my mind and I wanted to do something to connect to my community and do a mitzvah,” said participant Lara Watzky.

Barbara Levadi and her friend Arleen Silver also came to show their support.

“I think the work of the Friendship Circle is wonderful and I always wanted to make challah,” Barbara explained. “And since I wanted to make another contribution to Israel, this was great timing.”
