Presidents Club Marks End of Successful Year

Sixty-five teens representing high schools across the region gathered at LifeTown earlier this week as they prepared for the end of the programming year. The students, all members of the FC President’s Club, have volunteered tirelessly over the past year in Friendship Circle’s innovative programming even as they were adjusted to stay within Covid-19 guidelines.

Programs like Friends@Home, FC Electives and all the remote cooking, sports, art and holiday programs were only possible with the countless hours they put in. They also encouraged their classmates to get involved with Friendship Circle even while remaining homebound for much of the time due to lockdowns.

“Logistically things were certainly challenging this past year, but our Presidents stepped up and through phone calls, texts, web meetings and more, made sure that their FC buddies knew they were there for them,” said program coordinator Esty Grossbaum. “We all owe them a big thank you and we look forward to welcoming next year’s presidents to LifeTown for in-person activities in the fall.”
