Everyone Needs to Know, UMatter!

Friendship Circle is launching UMatter, a new initiative whose goal is to make sure that every person know that they matter. UMatter empowers teens to shatter the stigmas surrounding mental-health challenges through peer-to-peer projects that create an atmosphere of inclusion in their community and school. UMatter empowers students to support their peers and teaches that there is strength in seeking help.

As part of the program’s launch, FC will host two “safeTALK” training workshops on Sunday, June 6 and Monday, June 7 at LifeTown. safeTALK training workshops empower participants to recognize signs of people struggling with thoughts of suicide or other mental-health challenges. The safeTALK 4-hour training will give participants the tools to connect to people in crises and be a vital link by connecting them with life-saving intervention resources.
