On Your Mark, Get Set …. Go!

Tens of thousands of runners from across the United States will gather next week in southern Florida for the annual Miami LifeTime Marathon. Among the runners will be a group of 130 Friendship Circle supporters out to raise awareness – and funds — for the organization.

To date, the six New Jersey participants in the marathon have raised a total of $35,000 for the local Friendship Circle and are looking to increase their fundraising goal to $45,000.

Teen volunteer Binyamin Brickman is among those who will be heading for the finish line.

“I decided to run the Miami Marathon for Friendship Circle because it is an amazing organization. I am one of the presidents at my local Friendship Circle and volunteer there when I am available. I see first-hand how important organizations like Friendship Circle are and wanted to help spread awareness and raise money for The Friendship Circle,” says Brickman.

Though only 16, Brickman is no stranger to marathons as he ran the Jerusalem marathon last year in Israel and trains for marathons “as much as possible.”

“When running up hills I think of my special friends as their everyday life is an uphill battle.”
